Fee to Register a Lasting Power of Attorney Reduced to £82
Compassion in Dying welcomes the news that from 1 October 2013, the application fees for registering both LPAs and the older enduring powers of attorney (EPA) will both be reduced from £130 to £110.

Landmark case in UK court allows withdrawal of treatment for patient in accordance with family wishes
In a landmark ruling today the Court of Protection has allowed medics treating a 68 year old woman (known as Mrs N) in a minimally conscious state to withdraw ‘clinically assisted nutrition and hydration’ (CANH).

Our response to RCP End of Life Care Audit
It is extremely concerning that whilst some progress has been made the experience of many dying people remains so poor. Most worrying is that in many cases ‘choice at the end of life’ is an illusion.
