Sarah is a Specialist Nurse at Compassion in Dying, where she provides expert guidance and support through helpline calls, in-depth enquiries, and collaborative initiatives with NHS trusts to promote education on advance care planning. She also helps highlight and address some of the more complex enquiries the service receives.
With 25 years of nursing experience across multiple specialties, Sarah has spent around a decade as a Clinical Specialist Nurse in palliative care before moving into pain management. She has recently completed several modules towards a master’s in advanced healthcare and non-medical prescribing.
Sarah is deeply committed to person-centred, individualised care, taking a holistic approach that considers the full spectrum of people needs. She is a strong advocate for informed choice, recognising the vital role of clear communication in supporting people to make decisions about their care.
Sarah understands from experience the profound benefits of having open conversations with professionals, family, and friends about wishes and choices—ensuring these are documented appropriately for future use as needed and professionals are confident in actioning these documents appropriately.
