Fee to Register a Lasting Power of Attorney Reduced to £82
Compassion in Dying welcomes the news that from 1 October 2013, the application fees for registering both LPAs and the older enduring powers of attorney (EPA) will both be reduced from £130 to £110.

New report finds half of dying Britons are not dying well
A new report from charity Compassion in Dying, finds that almost half of those who have lost someone close to them through a short or long illness, feel their loved one died badly (45%).

New report finds some doctors are failing to engage constructively in patient decision-making at end of life
A new study, which looked at in excess of 200 calls to Compassion in Dying, found that a major barrier to patients exercising choice was doctors’ failure to engage with patients about their Advance Decision and the lack of systems in place to record them.

We were delighted to learn this week that we have been invited by Big Lottery Silver Dreams Fund to submit a full application for the roll out funding. The Silver Dreams Fund received 35 strong entries, far more than they could shortlist, so we have done really well to get this far.

Compassion in Dying comments on LCP review recommendations
Following an independent review into the Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP), facilitated by the Department of Health, a number of recommendations have been made, including the phasing out of the LCP in favour of individual end of life care plans.
