“Living Wills: What would you want” BBC Wales

Professor Jenny Kitzinger exposes the myth that next of kin can ensure our wishes are respected if we cannot make health-related decisions and explains the role of ‘living wills’.

Broadcast on Thursday 22nd August, this programme heard some moving stories from people who were unable to make important medical decisions for their loved ones, who then ‘were left in a state they would not have wanted’.

Our Director, Danielle Hamm, featured on this programme and said “Compassion in Dying’s vision is of a society where making advance decisions is as common as making a will. We have aimed to facilitate people filling out these forms without going to a solicitor – if you follow our guidance then it will be legally binding.”
