Many people stay in hospital at the end of their life. Hospitals can vary greatly in size and in the services they provide, but all should be able to make you as comfortable as possible by managing your pain and symptoms. This kind of care is called palliative care.
Some hospitals have their own specialist palliative care teams who can support you emotionally as well as physically, and who can also provide support to your family and loved ones.
