Before the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) the Health and Welfare LPA didn’t exist. There was only one for finance and property and it was called an Enduring Power of Attorney.
If you made an Enduring Power of Attorney before October 2007 (when the MCA came into force) it is still valid, but it does not cover decisions about health and welfare.
